Phil’s undergraduate degree was in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University. In those days, he had his heart set on becoming a water quality modelling engineer. He was the stereotypical engineer, meaning social interactions created a lot of stress for him, especially with people he didn’t know. However, when his life fell apart from the consequences of addiction, he felt a small still voice deep within him, inviting him to consider attending counseling school for the purpose of learning how to have “meaningful conversations”.
Over time and lots of struggle, Phil came to realize that being a counselor is much more of a passion of his heart than engineering ever was. His engineering training and experience allows him to connect well with analytical people as well as creatives.
He completed a masters in counseling and masters of divinity, at Mars Hill Graduate School, now known as The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2004.
In 2005 he completed the training to become fully certified as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). Getting this certification requires a significant amount of training and experience and requires ongoing training to maintain.
In 2012, Phil completed the requirements to become an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained provider. In 2015 he began training in psychodrama and creative experiential therapy modalities at Onsite Workshops, this work has significantly shaped his clinical style and approach to the work. More recently, in 2021, he earned his post-master’s certificate for Equine-Assisted Mental Health Practitioner Certificate from the University of Denver. Also in 2021, he completed Phase 1 of Brainspotting training. He has been leading intensives since 2016.
Phil always had a love and appreciation for animals and the natural world. In his work, this translates into trying to incorporate animals and the natural world into his work as much as possible. He also has a particular interest in exploring the role of family pets in one’s past and present family system and including animal interactions (feline and equine) in therapy.
Things that bring him joy in life are spending quality time with his wife and cats, outdoor activities such as kayaking, backpacking, hiking, snowshoeing, improving the lives of community cats by assisting with trap-neuter-return (TNR) of feral cats, and using various mediums to express his creativity. He is a self-proclaimed crazy cat guy! His top three Taylor Swift songs are All Too well (Taylor’s Version), Fearless, and Our Song.

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Aubrey graduated from Granite State College with a bachelor of psychology in 2012. After this she worked as a behavior interventionist with children in many different capacities. While supporting children with a variety of challenges she learned that counseling was a very important part of this position and also where her heart is. At that time, she began her master’s degree in counseling at Springfield College. Upon completion of this degree in 2018, she worked in an alternative school where she was able to experience the integration of horses and counseling. This was a remarkable experience where Aubrey grew her passion for Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Later, Aubrey began working as a therapist in a primary care office setting with children, adults, and families. Quickly, Aubrey realized that her work could be much more meaningful by incorporating animals. Aubrey went on to become licensed and open her own private practice.
Currently, Aubrey owns Mountain View Farms in Topsham, VT where she supports people of all ages through Experiential therapy primarily using equine and adventure related modalities. Aubrey enjoys working with people who are ready to take their personal work to the next level and engage in deeply meaningful transformations. Some areas of focus in her work include anxiety, depression, and trauma.
In Aubrey’s spare time she enjoys living on a farm where she has horses, cows, chickens, dogs and cats. She enjoys spending time with family, riding her horses, and adventuring with her many interests including gardening, exploring the great outdoors, swimming, and hiking. She looks forward to her coming years learning and developing with new people every day.
