What we are about
We provide the necessary ingredients; safe space, resources, and competent, skilled, experienced professionals, for people to explore, discover, and embody their authentic selves. Our compassionate and trauma-informed approach fosters a sense of safety while inviting you to transform and grow at a deep level.
Getting the proper level of care to match the need is critical to a positive outcome. Our founders, Aubrey and Phil, saw the need in New England for outpatient mental health care that is less extensive than inpatient (residential) yet something more than weekly outpatient care and something more than intensive outpatient programs (IOP) that feature cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) as their core treatment modalities, which trauma research shows is not going to bring deep level, lasting change. So, after leading intensives in their individual private practices for years, they created Vermont Counseling Intensives (VCI) – an organization that promotes the value of intensive therapeutic work.
We offer life changing experiences through one-to-one long-format counseling sessions tailored to support personal growth, self-awareness, and transformation. We offer specialized support for people who seeking healing from trauma, process addictions, betrayal, depression, anxiety, grief, and other challenges. We provide a safe, non-judgmental space for exploration and personal growth, with counselors who are trained in many therapeutic modalities to help clients achieve their therapy goals.
